The totem pole art installation, Halde Haniel. Prosper-Haniel was Germany's last black coal mine in operation. It closed in 2018. Today a large part of the industrial complex has been transformed into a nature reserve and leisure area. The summit of the Halde, the 131 meter high coal tip, offer stunning views over the Ruhr area.
